BeebMaster's Domesday Machine

SCSI Ribbon Cable

The SCSI board inside the BBC Master connects to the back of the Laserdisc player via a standard 50-way SCSI ribbon cable - no twists, cut pins or unconnected ends, just 50 way straight through.

The lead in the picture above is the one I used in my 20th Anniversary BeebMaster Domesday Machine. It has some additional connectors along the lead as I think it was originally used in a server with multiple hard disc drives, but it works fine with the Domesday System.

In February 2004, I'd made up a new SCSI cable of custom length for my purposes, which replaced a multi-coloured ribbon I had used previously. That new cable wasn't available for the 2006 sessions but was restored to my Domesday System in 2011 and is still there now.
