The original purpose here was to demonstrate that serial communications worked up until anything happened using VFS. I was almost on the point of getting it worked out, but at the time I didn't know about the specific mode change commands.

Above is the little routine we worked out earlier for transmitting and receiving via RS423. There has been a major addition to Domesday 2010 by this point, I ought to say, namely the reinstatement of the SCSI ribbon cable so that I can use SCSI communications as well as serial.
