The drive door ejects a little way automatically when you press the eject button. You then slide out the tray, remove or insert the disc and push it back. Once it gets to this position again, the hydraulics spring into action and the door continues to close automatically.

At least, that is what is supposed to happen. Unfortunately the door mechanism on this LV-ROM player is broken. However, it can be operated manually by pushing the tray in and out but to get it to come out, you need the lid off.
