Domesday Battery Notes

Page 2 is even more interesting as it mentions a battery nest underneath the computer. The Master AIV apparently had special battery arrangements whereby the battery pack was held in the recess underneath the machine next to the power supply. I imagine this was firstly because there would be no room for the battery pack in its usual place inside the computer as the SCSI board would be in the way. Secondly I reckon Acorn didn't really want people opening up the computer to change the batteries with all the extra bits inside.

However, I have seen a couple of genuine Domesday Systems (as opposed to my own cobbled-together effort) over the last two or three years and I haven't yet seen one with the underside battery.
