Page 2 is even more interesting as it mentions a battery nest underneath the computer. The Master AIV had special battery arrangements whereby the battery pack was held in the recess underneath the machine next to the power supply. I imagine this was firstly because there would be no room for the battery pack in its usual place inside the computer as the ScSI board would be in the way. Secondly I reckon Acorn didn't really want people opening up the computer to change the batteries with all the extra bits inside.
