The A4 is the first, and as far as I know, the only, laptop made by Acorn. Introduced in 1992, it was a condensed version of the latest 32-bit Acorn at the time. Issued in two versions, you could have the 1MB starter version or the 4MB edition with built-in 60MB hard disc.
I have had my two A4s since October 2003. The first one does not appear to work. The hard disc spins and some of the lights come on but apart from that, it is completely dead. Thankfully the second one arrived shortly after and it works, with one or two quirks, almost as if new.
