As the disc spins up to play, the right-hand side of the display registers, telling us we are playing a 12" CAV disc on side one. The no sound message is correct in a way, it means there is no analogue sound on this disc, which is quite right as it has a digital soundtrack, which the VP406 is too old to understand.
