The underside of the board is untouched at this point as the mods had all been made to the component side.

My modifications hadn't worked, and it took me about 5 years to realise that what I had been trying to do was to apply modifications needed to the Acorn host adapter to this Akhter one, when it uses a different circuit. So I was on a hiding to nothing.
