Space is like a hard disc seek operation, except that instead of specifying an absolute location to seek to, the space command operates relative to the current position. Various options are provided depending on the code supplied. When executed, the space command moves the position of the tape by the specified number of blocks, filemarks or sequential filemarks. The last option, end of data, moves the tape position to the end of the recorded data.
