In addition, you will need a disc drive and the Level 2 File Server software disc, shown here on the left, and a data disc. The original Acorn Level 2 "Master" data disc is shown here on the right which contains the Econet library utilities.

Note the distinction in Level 2 Econet made between the software disc, which can be stored away once the file server programme is loaded, and the data disc, which must be present in the drive all the time the server is running.
