Sideways RAM is very handy thing, because it means you can assemble your own ROM image in the Beeb's RAM and then load it into sideways RAM as if it were on a little 28-pin chip sitting inside the Beeb! It means you don't have to go burning a ROM every time you want to check your work, you only need to make up a real ROM chip when all the testing is done!
