The inability to genlock properly has the side effect that VFS isn't able to read an LV-ROM disc. I'm not exactly sure of the reason why, possibly it's because the disc rotation speed doesn't settle down whilst it's trying to synchronise.

VFS won't select, and using the *FSN command in the ADT ROM shows us that whatever is the current filing system, it certainly isn't VFS.
