At last the map disappears as the MOUNT command goes through to the LV-ROM player successfully and the disc is mounted. When the player is reading an LV-ROM disc, the laser is positioned on the frame where the LV-ROM data is stored. The data is in fact stored in the audio track, so it's quite possible that there is a video frame recorded in the same position, but the player switches off video display whilst reading disc data, so the screen goes blank.
