The previous fuzzy picture is the LV-ROM player genlocking to the BBC RGB overlay. To achieve "genlocking", the player slows the disc rotation speed down slightly if a disc is playing, which causes the image to break up.

It has succeeded and the stable picture returns. The LV-ROM player is still displaying the Community disc map frame with the southern half highlighted, because the Beeb hasn't yet been able to get a message through to the player to do something else.
