The laserdisc starts playing independently of anything else happening, and following on from the VOSUPERIMPOSE command, the computer output remains on the screen overlaid on top of the starting sequence to the National Disc.

All laserdisc players I have come across auto-play a disc when first inserted so the title sequence plays. If we leave the disc playing for long enough, it will play its way through all 54,000 frames on the disc, which will probably hurt our eyes.

What we want to do is to start the Domesday System, which requires some manual intervention.
