The slot in the front of the box appears to be tailor made for something along these lines. I think at the time I probably also had in my mind that Acorn latterly went into making TV set-top boxes. I don't think the NC is a set-top box as such, but perhaps it's a staging post between a full RISC computer and a set-top box.
