You might remember that the new hard disc was labelled "Acorn 1668MB". This was because I bought it on E-Bay as a disc formatted for use in an A7000. My original intention was to re-format it, if necessary, for the A5000.

A limitation of RISC-OS 3.11 is that the maximum disc size is 512MB. You can use bigger discs but any space after the first 512MB will be wasted. I knew this at the time but when the disc verified OK and gave me a valid free space map, I formulated a cunning plan...
