A420/1 Floppy Drive
No progress here. One worrying occurrence was that the screen kept blanking during floppy drive accesses, which convinced me that something was badly wrong - I made as short video of the phenomenon here. However, I was soon informed that this is completely normal practice for these Archimedes machines, which can't keep up with the floppy disc access and screen updating at the same time!
