Don't be put off by what seems to be faulty connections at the back. The Econet Flat Box in fact only takes two AA batteries, in the middle sockets, so the top and bottom ones are not used.

For a long time I thought the box was broken - I wish I'd realised earlier as this thing is absolutely essential for network debugging!
