BeebMaster - Uviprom EPROM Programmer

Uviprom
EPROM
Programmer

This was the first EPROM programmer I owned and did sterling work in the months after I first got it. Unfortunately it will only programme 21v devices which are becoming very rare! As such, it is practically retired now, having been superseded by my Morley Electronics EPROM Programmer.

The ROM holder used to contain a ZIF socket to prevent pin bending. However, I had to use this in my Master 512 when I added it to my Econet.

Like so many BBC peripherals, the circuitry for the Uviprom EPROM Programmer is very simple. There are only three ICs on the board, eight resistors, five capacitors, three diodes and two LEDs.

There is space on the board for a variable resistor so I presume an enhanced model was available allowing the user to control the programming voltage. In fact, I think I have some instructions somewhere detailing how to make this upgrade, but I've never got round to it.
