Station 128
BBC Model B
With the keyboard out of the way, we can see the motherboard of Station 128 more clearly. In this picture, we can see the Econet interface, speech upgrade and 1770 disc upgrade.
The sideways ROM banks are all full, containing, from left to right: OS 1.20, DNFS 1.20, 16K sideways RAM, 1770 DFS 2.26, and BASIC II.
The bank of sideways RAM is in the fact the prototype for my own BeebMaster 16K Sideways RAM module. This plugs into a free ROM socket on any BBC and connects via a retractable probe clip to one of three positions inside the Model B motherboard to provide a write signal to the RAM. It needs a short bit of assembly language code to let you load a ROM image into the sideways RAM. If you have 1770 DFS, like I have in Station 128, this comes with the Sideways RAM utilities so you can use the *SRLOAD command instead which is much easier.
