BBC Model B
Before the days of CMOS RAM, certain settings on the BBC Model B could be "configured" by altering the settings of the 8 links on the BBC Model B keyboard circuit board. Making a link with by soldering in a bit of wire is a rather drastic permanent solution, so an alternative is to solder in a bank of DIP switches which can then be altered at will. This is what I have done here.
The eight links control the default screen mode, floppy disc controller timings, and the priority of DFS and NFS in the DNFS ROM. There's more on how all this works here.
