The Royal Train
Manchester
February 2008

Goodbye!

I'm not quite sure where the Royal Train lives, but it certainly seems to have been well-looked after over the last thirty years. Most of the carriages, I think, date from the mid-Seventies, although the locomotives may be a bit more recent than this.

The engines used to be called Prince William and Prince Henry, named after His Late Majesty King George VI's brothers, but these must have been retired by now.

It's the second time I have seen the Royal Train, the first being in Hull in June 1999. I hope it won't be the last.
