This is the Acorn host adapter board, which interfaces the BBC micro to the Winchester disc.

In theory, it should be possible to connect up older SCSI discs to the host adapter board but I have not had any luck. The Rodime RO652 is known to work as it is used in the FileStore E20 but I have not been able to find any other discs to work. I have tried Maxtor, Seagate, Compaq, Fujitsu and DEC drives recently, some dating back as far as 1990, but all that happens is that the ribbon cable melts and the power supply starts to whine.
