Secure Terminator Box




Although the secure terminator box would normally be the final socket box at the end of the network cable, it has the facility to be through-wired as an intermediate socket box. The reason for this is to serve in its other capacity as a secure socket box.

Instead of plugging a terminator into the socket, we can connect an Econet lead as shown in this picture. In this configuration, we can protect an important station, such as the file server or printer server, or perhaps the Econet Clock, by preventing it from being unplugged from the network.

That little window we just mentioned then becomes the outlet for the wire of the Econet lead.
