Split Socket Boxes

This is the circuit board. It has two principal differences from the standard socket box. The first, and most obvious, is the presence of the two leads attached, which end in DIN plugs.

The second difference is that the two halves of the board are not electrically connected. There is a dividing line down the middle of the board which illustrates this, and here is where the name "split" socket box comes from.

The idea behind this was that each half of the network would be separately driven by the clock signal, making for a faster and more reliable network.
