This is the board inside the clock. There are 6 integrated circuits, 7 diodes, 10 capacitors, 2 resistors, 2 resistor packs, a voltage regulator, crystal, two DIP switches and two Econet sockets.
The clock speed concept is the same as the Acorn Level 3 clock, but the setting is completely different.
The mark and space must be set, but with the SJ clock, the space is set only indirectly, and both settings are measured in microseconds.
The mark can be refined down to ⅛µs using the top DIP switch, and any combination can be used to create a mark up to 7⅞µs.
The space is set by first setting the period, being the mark plus the space, which can be set between ½µs and 15¾µs.
These settings give a highly refinable clock speed setting for optimum network performance.
