The two drives are now mounted in the expansion box. On the left is a 5.25" Seagate ST2383N providing 315MB of storage in 6 partitions and the other one is a 3.5" Seagate ST51080N with 8 partitions providing 480MB of space.

I find it good practice to label the drives with the partition names and sizes, together with details of the link jumpers if they are not already printed on the drive labelling.

Generally the MDFS will accept any 50-pin SCSI drive provided the MDFS has has the right modifications.
