Econet Socket Boxes
This is the front of the circuit board, containing two DIN sockets, and two sets of blade connectors for attaching the network cable. There are two tie-wraps for securing the cables.
The Acorn socket boxes do not allow for breaks in the network cable. At the point where the box is to be fitted, the cable must be stripped back and then the individual wires crimped onto the blade connectors.
On the left hand side, the legend reads "ECONET BOX TERMINATOR" because the circuit board for Acorn passive terminators is exactly the same as the socket box. There are various positions on the board for the terminating resistors to be fitted.
