BeebMaster - Econet Station 254 - FileStore E01

Station 254
Acorn FileStore E01

Now all you do is slide the metal casing off towards the back, unplug the drive door sensor from the motherboard and you have unfettered access to the insides of your FileStore.

Here you can see the twin drives at the front of the FileStore. Access to these is prevented by the drive door. Once you open the drive door, the FileStore goes into maintenance mode and the network cannot be used again until user mode returns. A handy side effect of doing this is that everyone will be logged off when you shut the door again.

I think you are supposed to open the drive door just before you shut down the network because it has the effect of ensuring any open files or buffers to disc. I never bother with this as the FileStore is usually inaccessible. If I need to go into maintenance mode, I use the *FSMODE command.
