Dr Who

50th Anniversary Viewing

I decided to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Dr Who with a completely different viewing tack. Instead of trotting out the usual suspects on video, I've decided to think outside the Whoniverse completely, and delve into the other work done by the Doctors through the ages instead.

I've had to get all these in specially for the occasion, and I'm really looking forward to the experience. Shortly after the anniversary, I hope to report back on how it all went.

I gave some careful thought to the titles I wanted. The idea was to avoid radio or voice-overs so that I could see the Doctor involved, rather than just hear him. Tom Baker has done plenty of voice-overs and Jon Pertwee has a substantial body of audio work, so this meant that "The Navy Lark" and "Superted" were out.

I also wanted to stay away from any of the most obvious choices, so I ruled out "The Army Game" or "This Sporting Life" for Hartnell, "Worzel Gummidge" for Pertwee or "All Creatures Great and Small" for Davison. A final criterion was to try to see as much as I could which I'd never seen before.
