A two-tone transparent pattern. There's no text on the screen during this part of the demonstration because I had to faff about with the 6845 registers to get the widescreen effect. I didn't have the time to make sure the text was working, which it wasn't, so all I could get was the graphics colours on screen. If you want to know exactly how I did it, look no further than here.
