Using
Domesday
2010

By this point, I'd got a floppy disc going containing all the work I was doing with Domesday 2010, and so I put a little configuration reset routine on the disc, because every time I switched off for a bit and switched on again, the CMOS had forgotten everything again!

Due to problems I'd been having between May and July 2010 with my Philips laserdisc players, and also knowing the tendency of the little terminating resistor pack in the Master AIV SCSI interface to overheat somewhat chronically, I imposed a strict one-hour time limit on Domesday 2010 when it was setup and running. 60 mins on, then at least 10 mins off to cool things down a bit before carrying on.

I haven't replaced the battery as yet, because the BeebMaster Domesday Machine contains one of those old shrink-wrapped ones which will just fit down the left-hand side of the keyboard. The only replacement packs I have to hand are the three-cell-carrier type, which are too big to go down the side of the keyboard, and they don't easily fit anywhere else with the SCSI interface taking up all the remaining inside space.
