Test Rescue March 2014

One of the problems with using ADFS and its almost-identical read-only side-kick VFS is that every time you switch to the filing system, to be safe, you have to mount the disc again. With flash memory media like the CF drive, it doesn't really matter, but with actual physical media, and especially something as fragile as an LV-ROM player and a Domesday laserdisc, it does put a strain on things. Every mount re-zeros the drive, and then it has to seek to the next sector requests, and that all takes its toll on the 30-odd-year old mechanics inside.
