Unfortunately it doesn't work on the good VP415! As soon as the F-code to turn on the picture number counter is transmitted, this has the effect of switching off the main information overlay. My wonky VP415 has software revision code 1718, but the good one is 1921, so this development - a bug fix I suppose you could call it - must be one of the "improvements".
