Interface
Here is the underside of the SCSI interface.
As far as I am aware, this most extraordinary of Beeb items can only be used in the Domesday System. This is because of the way it connects into the Master motherboard. The Videodisc Filing System ROM controls all the communication between the SCSI interface and the Beeb.
If the SCSI board had been an add-on connected via the 1MHz bus, all kinds of hard disc possibilities might have opened up. Unfortunately, it looks like the Acorn SCSI adapter has but one use.
It is not beyond the realms of possibility, however, to think that if all the technical ins and outs of the board were known, software could be written to allow a SCSI hard drive to be connected up to the Beeb. Maybe I'll have a go one day.
