Here I have plugged in the SCSI ribbon cable, ensuring the lead is the right way up, ie. the red strip indicating pin 1 at the top.

If using a properly made up SCSI ribbon cable then you can't really get it wrong as the connectors on the SCSI board and the LV-ROM player have the "notch" to help ensure correct installation, but there's no harm in triple checking.
