Module Y is the video mixing module in the Domesday Sandwich. This takes the computer picture received from the RGB input on the board and overlays it onto the disc video, applying the currently selected overlay mode (disc only, computer only, computer superimpose, computer highlight or computer transparent).

The final module is Z, deck electronics, which is not in the Domesday Sandwich but located back in the main player case, and provides all the electronics required for the laser unit, including tilt control and focusing.
