LV-ROM Player
A few more have been passed over, so here goes:
Module T is the power supply and Module U is the Analogue I/O CVBS, Video, Audio and Teletext. This module is in three parts which is under the main racking which houses the remainder of the modules in the player so it's not easy to remove. Module U provides the facilities for the various different audio-visual components of the VP415, including the overlay of Teletext from a Laservision disc.
There is no Module V, so Module W, shown here is the Data Grabber and CPU. This provides the SCSI interface to the BBC computer, and passes LV-ROM data received from Module X to the computer via the SCSI bus. Module W also processes F-code commands received via the SCSI bus from the external computer and passes them to control module S. The CPU is a Z80 processor with 32K of on-board RAM and 32K of ROM arranged as four separate EPROMs.
