Module M is the radial drive, which deals with the movement of the radial mirror to ensure that the laser is always focused on the correct point on the disc. The capability of the mirror to tilt to move the laser focus without the laser unit having to move allows the VP415 to provide the "instant jump" facility whereby the player can instantly display a frame located up to 50 frames in either direction from the current frame without any "black screen" delay.
