Rescuing the
Domesday
Data
Here I am using a very handy SJ utility, Multicopy, to copy the files. I have made a few modifications to work it with VFS instead of ADFS. The good thing about Multicopy is that, unlike Logcopy, it uses all the available RAM as a buffer. With the ARM Co-processor attached to the Domesday Machine, I have just under 16MB of RAM available, all of which is being used by Multicopy.
By this point I have reached DATA1, which is the first huge file on the disc, being about 100MB long.
As you may have noticed from the network path at the top of the screen, I was at this point still using the A5000 as a Level 4 file server. If this method had worked then it would have made the transfer process very easy since this amended version of Multicopy would have done the whole lot for me without any trouble. Unfortunately, the strange problem with Level 4 reared its head again and so I abandoned use of Level 4 at this point and embarked upon a full re-think.
