Pressing STOP/EJECT opens the tape deck for insertion and removal of tapes. The Data Recorder takes standard cassette tapes, although in the 1980s you used to be able to buy special C15 computer tapes which were 15 minutes long and cost three times as much as a normal 90-minute tape.
The metal handle slides out of the bottom for ease of carrying.
