Back to black and white for Carry On Cabby which sees the antics of Speedee Taxis, run by workaholic Charlie Hawkins. His long-suffering wife decides to teach him a lesson by starting a rival company, Glamcabs. Charlie thinks his business is finished and his marriage is over until the Speedee Taxis boys rally round to foil a robbery on Glamcabs.

"Cabby" wasn't meant to be a Carry On, but the title was changed from "Call Me a Cab" to "Carry On Cabby" at a late stage. It is the first script in the series by Talbot Rothwell and the first appearance by Jim Dale. It also sees the first husband-and-wife partnership of Sidney James and Hattie Jacques.
