Although I took my camera to Stoke, I didn't actually have it with me on the Friday at Bidds Music Club, where Byte-Back was to be held. After checking in at the hotel, I went straight to Bidds, arriving about 4pm.
The idea was that all the "exhibitors" could arrive from 3pm to set everything up ready for Saturday morning.
Unfortunately, the owner didn't turn up until about 5.30pm, but there's nothing like a couple of hours in a wet, cold car park for getting to know 8-bit computer people!
This picture, then, is from the Saturday session, just as it was about to open, with everything set up ready. The picture was taken at 11:10 am and 18 seconds, don't you know, according to what my camera has told me!
My Teletext Beeb, with the aerial strapped to the top of the monitor with a bit of parcel tape, a dual Pace 5¼" drive and home-made Viglen 5¼"/Sony 3½" drive (which didn't actually work all weekend, hence the Pace drive in reserve) and, for good measure, the Tesco Cheese Wedge to the right.
The rest of the Acornucopia you see here isn't mine!
The Beeb on the left deserves special mention. It's a very nice BBC B with 6502 second processor, dual 5¼"/3½" drive, and a tiny little monitor with a lovely, crisp picture. Inside the Beeb is a thingummy called RAMagic, which amongst other things, has a real-time clock which displays the time every time you press BREAK.
