I was advised to be careful about switching it on because the batteries had leaked. However, I carefully examined the main board whilst I had the lid off and the corrosion hadn't reached the PCB, so I thought it would be safe.

With my A5000 keyboard and mouse added, I turned on my new acquisition, and as you can see, it works perfectly!
