Underneath is a raised 40-pin connector to fit the module to the 8271 slot in a BBC Model B. There is an extra 40-pin socket on it, I don't think it is part of the original board, so it's something somebody (possibly me) has added.

There are various types of Watford 1770 interface, and the Watford brought out their own versions of DFS, including a double-density DFS, to work it.
