BeebMaster - Acorn MOS 3.50

Acorn MOS 3.50

Here's Station 201 running MOS 3.50. This machine came to me in May 2003 as part of my Greatest Find, being a Master 512 with a couple of extra ROM boards and the alternative MOS 3.50. I've kept it in this configuration, although one of the ROM boards does some fancy switching so the actual contents of the system ROM aren't as you would expect, and for most normal use - as here - the Tube is switched off.

Already we can see three differences - ACORN is printed in capital letters, BASIC is dated 4 years after the MOS 3.20 edition, and the OS version number from OSBYTE 0 displays as MOS 3.50, the "M" having been added since the previous version.

PAGE and HIMEM are the same, although PAGE is higher than standard here as all my Econet Masters have the Space setting on to move OSHWM up by 2 pages from &E00 to &1000, which is where a lot of Econet utilities like to run.
